Facility Quality Control (QC) Lead – CWI  

Pay DOE, starting at $26-$28/hr.

SUMMARY

The QC Lead’s role is to perform verification of in process shop fabrication dimensions based on shop drawings and specifications, perform visual weld inspections, and document control.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES    Responsibility (specific assignments may vary by individual and/or location):

• Support all Company Safety Policies to ensure they are followed
• Ability to lead, direct, delegate, facility quality team, objectives and outcomes
• Establish Standard Operating procedures and continuous improvements
• Mentor, develop, cross-train quality team with internal/external materials, systems, and methodologies
• Ensure internal/external Non-Conforming Reports (NCR) are properly administered and archived
• Ensure Corrective Actions (CAR) are produced, applied and archived
• Support facility Fabrication schedule as needed
• Participate in drawing reviews
• Participate and contribute to Quality Manual reviews/updates and audits
• Ensure proper testing is completed at facility location, RT, MT, UT, PAUT as required
• Focus on continuous improvement
• Verify conformance of product to shop drawings and contract requirements through:
• Dimensional checks with tape measure to drawings
• Visual inspection of welds (informational)
• Generates inspection records or provides input to QC Manager for records as required

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Required Qualifications:

• • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • Knowledge of AISC, ASME, API codes
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a notable steel fabrication or erection company
  • At least 2 years’ inspection experience in a major steel fabrication or erection company
  • High school diploma or GED required (degree preferred)
